YMCA Thrissur is affiliated to the National Council of YMCAs of India and YMCA South WEST India Region. And we are also one of the oldest YMCAs in India. It was established in 1886 by the efforts of the CMS Missionaries and eminent men of Thrissur. Later on in 1968 YMCA Thrissur was registered under the ‘Travancore Cochin Literary, Scientific, Charitable Societies’ Act XII of 1955 (Registration No. 28 of 1968)’. Ever since its inception, our YMCA has stood the test of time and stands as a strong pillar extending yeomen service to the society.

We are a ‘Youth oriented’ and ‘Christ centered’ organization that works beyond the narrow confines of caste, colour and creed. We seek to share the Christian ideal of building a humane community of justice with love, peace and reconciliation for the fullness of life for all of God’s creation. YMCA Thrissur has rendered exemplary service in the sphere of youth activities, ecumenical endeavours, social service, AIDS awareness, medical relief and rural reconstruction.
